Case Study Kohaka Station

Micheal Gerber in his book the E-myth revisited a world-famous best selling book for small business owners states that the trap most small business owners fall into including ourselves is that they get caught up working in their businesses when they need to be working ON their business with the aim of making yourself redundant and or selling the business for profit.   This is what Kohaka Station has successfully done and good on them. About 4 years ago I was approached by one of the co-managers of Kohaka Station Guided Deer Hunting.  She made the point that the website they had built for themselves was not really visible online and so was virtually useless.  To that end, we were briefed and produced a website that showed all the points of difference compared to the Stations Deer Hunting  Comp[etition.  In this instance, we created a new Website,  Logo Business Cards stationary, and Brochures – a complete starter package so to speak.

We created the website and the client was happy with the result but we said to them. The website is only half the solution because if you are selling nationally or even across the Central Plateau you need to be seen or your website will have no effect.  The customer was not keen to spend any more money so for three months we just worked on Organic SEO  and we had some good results getting to the first page on some  Sek searches like ‘Fallow Deer Hunting Ruapehu ‘ etc which was OK but not really OK from our perspective so I kept calling them from time to time them to do something about this and eventually the agreed to listen to what our third-party SEO, social media Google advertising company we sometimes choose to work with had to say. They had a good chat and at the end of it, the Kohaka team had got a good handle on it.
