Hardwood Technology Business Identity

As with so many of our clients Hardwood Technology is another company that performs exceptionally well and is at the forefront of their field offering the best you can buy in terms of Sports and residential Flooring. Hardwood which is a division of Hammerking is an extremely innovative company, with three eclectic directors, each with their own style and distinct personalities. It’s alway enjoyable working with such flexible and creative individuals or companies such as Hardwood and we hope to continue our relationship for as long as possible because of this. Work to date has included Websites, Print Advertising, Logo and Business Identities, Print communication Material and Signage in essence brand building, which is a particular strength of Elan Design.

We spoke recently to one of the directors who was a bit of a skeptic with an engineering background, where a spade is a spade. He’s finding his promotional work is making a big impact on his business and was almost unnecessarily embarrassed that he’d been a skeptic. Needless to say they’re rapt with the extra business generated.

Plankwall Stickman

Plankwall and its sub brand Stickman, manufacture and sell Shop Fitting Products nationwide, in particular Plankwall which has a mechanism to  fix products making wall displays simple and professional looking.
Stickman is a range of products that allow panel boards to be joined in all manner of angles thereby creating a lot of creative freedom for architects and builders.
The brief was  to sell to Architects, Draughtsmen and Shopfitters and present Stickman products as an exciting creative option for this sector. Consequently we designed brochures, sample packs and websites to promote Stickman and the Plankwall range with the website promoting in the region of 2000 products. As a result of this work we were able according to the General Manager /Marketing Manager, increase company profit 30% in the first year (see reference in testimonial section). Unfortunately David left Plankwall and the marketing role was taken over by the owner an elderly gentleman who had his own ideas about design and style who drastically changed the colour of the website using a novice see www.plankwall.co.nz An example of the dangers of self website administration.

You might think this is an unusual choice to include in our Portfolio. The reason we have included this is to indicate design flexibility. A good design team needs to be able to design for the Pope to a Diesel Mechanic creating designs appropriate for each client speaking to their clients in the text and visual language that will evoke a positive response whether that’s opening their wallets or by creating credibility via print or online marketing material.
Manning Funerals required a  degree of sensitivity to capture the essence of what Mannings were wanting to convey. This image is a detail photo of the inside of the promotional folder which if you look carefully has multiple layers and is designed to be somewhat poetic. Quite the opposite of a punchy sales type advert brochure or flyer. The client was quite moved and loved this promotional folder and we believe it has been a great business asset for them.
